A year ago, little Brontie discovered that her birthday coincides with United Nations Universal Children's Day, on 20th November. She received birthday cards but wondered why other children didn't receive cards for Children's Day.
She wondered why so few adults made cards for children on the various Children's Day worldwide, unlike children who made Mother's Day cards and Father's Day cards for their parents and grandparents.
Brontie asked, “Mommy, why don't most adults make cards for children on Children's Day?”
Mommy replied, “I suppose it's because most adults don't have art teachers at school to teach them to make beautiful cards.”
Brontie thought for a while and suggested, “What if I design a beautiful card for adults to give to children?”
Mommy thought that was a good idea, but wondered what would make it extra special?
Brontie went home and discussed her card idea with her elder brother, C.D. and younger brother, Bobbie. Together, they suggested lots of fantastic ideas, but the favourite, most fantastic idea was to have stickers in their cards!
They think children would love to have stickers in their cards, and if the stickers can be equated to doing their favourite activities with their parents or grandparents or teachers or aunties or uncles, that would make it extra special!
C.D., Brontie & Bobbie asked Mommy & Daddy, Grandma & Grandpa about how to make their designs into Sticker Cards, and that's how this little project became a family venture.
We feel very blessed about the fun time we can spend together creating Stickers Cards. We hope adults and children will enjoy choosing the activities they want to do together to stick on their cards, as well as the time they spend together: swimming; cycling; reading books; playing chess; going to the playground; going for a meal; watching a movie together etc. And hope that the Sticker Cards become a treasured keepsake for the family.
C.D., Brontie & Bobbie feel very lucky to have a loving family, and to be born with good health. Their own grandfather struggled with physical disability since he was a baby.
They would like to help children in need and donate all net proceeds to UNICEF, to support their works for the world’s most vulnerable children.
With Love,
Cards Family
